J. morgan atelier

Ceramist and owner, Jackie Morgan, has sold her work exclusively within Greater Dayton since 2019.

Committed to the historic concept of the “local potter”, Jackie continues to focus her business on building relationships with fellow Daytonians and other small business owners in the area.

handcrafted

Each J. Morgan Atelier piece is slowly handcrafted in a time-honored, small-batch process. Although some items are made on the potter’s wheel, most JMA work relies on hand-building with slabs of clay and plaster forms, pinching, and coil-building. These methods allow the clay to retain a distinctively handmade quality & charm.

quality

Conscious of the permanence of pottery, J. Morgan Atelier strives to create beautifully functional pieces that stand the test of time - not only in their construction, but in the classic style of their forms, as well. It is our hope that JMA ceramics will find their home on your tables for many years and prove to be treasured gifts for future generations.

eco-conscious

Ceramics are not a sustainable industry. There’s no way around that fact. Clay is a natural, non-renewable resource. However, there are measures that can be taken to create ceramicware with intention and with the best possible practices for reducing carbon footprint and minimizing waste.

J. Morgan Atelier is committed to pursuing environmentally-conscious processes by packaging with post-recycled materials, providing incentives for the reuse of those materials, and selling locally without the added packaging needs shipping requires.
